Tips for Using Sunscreen

Sunscreen can indeed provide protection against skin from sun radiation. But the new sunscreens can work effectively if its use is right and proper way. Here are some tips to use sunscreen in order to effectively protect your skin.

  • Use a cosmetic or sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or more if you will move outside and exposed to direct sunlight. The people whose skin is whiter need sunscreen SPF numbers higher than that of his dark skin.

  • Choose a sunscreen that provides protection against various kinds of radiation, including UV-A radiation. Usually veil

  • Choose a waterproof sunscreen (waterproof) and sweat resistant (sweatproof). Without the label, sunscreen easily erased by sweat or water while swimming.

  • Choose a sunscreen that is free PABA or Para-aminobenzoic acid. PABA can create a skin allergy. PABA tends to make skin irritation, redness, and more sensitive to sunlight. Therefore, choose a sunscreen that does not contain PABA.

  • Apply sunscreen with a thick cream 20 minutes before your outdoor activities. Let the sunscreen absorb and ready to work for 20 minutes you could be the new outdoor activities. Then apply again after 20 minutes exposure to sunlight. Then apply sunscreen every 2 hours especially if you are swimming or sweating. Sunscreens with waterproof labels should be re-used every 40 minutes.

  • Apply sunscreen cream on the nose, ears, back of neck, and other areas exposed to sunlight. The nose is a part of the most exposed to sunlight. Therefore, do not forget to apply sunscreen on the nose and surrounding areas.

  • There are various forms of sunscreen. If your skin is oily sunscreen gel is more suitable for you. Whereas if you have dry skin so use sunscreen cream.

  • Do not forget to always check the expiry age of your sunscreen. Because every beauty product has an expiration period.

  • Do not be fooled by cosmetic products such as powder, foundation, or different types of make-up that also serves as a sunscreen. Because the cosmetic product is not thick enough to act as a sunscreen. Therefore, use sunscreen products with different cosmetics as they contain high levels of protection.

  • Sunscreen should not be given to infants under 6 months old. Then check the expiration date the sunscreen product. Because if it is thick, dry, or discolored, then sunscreen products can be lost benefits.


Wearing sunscreen does not mean you are safe from sun radiation. Sunscreen is only one product to the dangers of sun protection. Weaknesses sunscreen is easily removed from the skin if exposed to water or erased by a towel or cloth. Therefore, always protect your skin from the hot sun in various ways including the use of sunscreen.
